Get yours!: www.sonicelectronix.com In part 1 of our car speaker informational series, we discuss and review some of the differences between coaxial speakers and component systems. Using the Kicker KS650 coaxial speakers and the Precision Power 356cs component speakers as an example, we give you a closer look at these car audio speakers. Hopefully this will help in learning more about car speakers, as well as choosing your next set of car speakers. Main page: www.sonicelectronix.com

very nice tutorial man
@54Tomcats
It was ~200 dollars for the speakers and ~20 for the adapters. But that was 3 years ago now.
Around how much did all this cost!?
Would you recommend speaker enclosures? People said its mainly for water protection but I don’t think water will be a problem for mine, I don’t want anything taking away from my quality and I’m sound deadening the doors.
Me too .. thanks really helpful
i have the same headlights
EASY!!! NOOBS
they’re not ‘bad speakers’ in the back, they’re just stock manufacturers and they are good. You’ll not notice a difference if replacing the rear speakers too
@ReconAMP
Definitely
its always best to test your speakers tho before you put on the door trims.
where did u purchase the adapter plate and wire harness, i have a 2003 mustang i and i am looking into upgrading the speakers cause i have 2 12′s that are just over powering
@752752tigre where did you learn how to speak???
ive got a 1997 mustang and i need to replace the back speakers but when i got access to them i found that theres an adapter from the wires to the factory speakers. because of the adapter the wires wont connect to the new speakers. am i supposed to cut off the adapter and use just the wires?
how to install speakers in the back of a Mustang convertible

@joerob89 says the guy who uses “their” when he should of used “there.” If you’re going to be racist and call someone stupid then make sure your own grammar is correct. Dipshit
i want to install cars speakers, but i dont have this car…..
@cory2146 i second that.. like the clips for the wires?
@11essexboi11 It’s only an hour or two process. Just depends on how fast you can figure out how the door panels are actually connected.
ahh that looks so long and confusing
can i pay you to do mine? lol
Are all speaker harness adapters the same?
i have an 03 eclipse and want to install 6 1/2″ speakers for the doors and 6x9s for the rear. im planning on getting these from alpine, but im not sure if they should be component or coaxials. what should i do? and also, what type of amp should i get?
@SonicElectronixTV got a couple questions for u guys, so do the kicker ks 6.5s have good loud mids? n highs n does a pair come in one box,? n would they sound good with my cvr 12s
@jenuelpr The best place is the kick panel, it is closer to the wiring coming from the door and its also in a more secure spot. Its never really a good idea to put external crossover inside the door panel, the door is constantly opening and closing and it can cause the crossovers to fall. So the best location is the kick panel.
if i buy 2 sets of component speakers where that little crossover go? not inside the door panel i imagine lol…btw i thought crossover was something else this little thing that u can set up how u want the sound which is better to install under the radio or reachable for weneaver u wanna change the settings…
@blink1223 What you will need is a 4-channel Line-Out Converter. This will allow you to use your speakers wires as hi-level inputs that you would connect to your speakers to your vehicle without messing with the factory dash or the need to upgrade or change your headunit. This would be the best way to go. Something like the Cache COE6 should do the trick.
if this is mid woofer ,then what is woofer.. which speaker has woofer..?
I have a Kia Forte SX 2011 and I want to put 2 amps and 4 subs, but the stock radio don’t have the Subwoofer option, so I know I have to get an equalizer but my question is: can I put all that without damage the stock radio system?? and how can I do it?
My car originally came out the factory with wires for the mids and tweeters, can I just wire to the original loom or would i have to use the cross over?
What about speakers like the JBL P8662? It’s a coaxial speaker with an external crossover. How would these compare to components?
Yes components are way more better than coaxial.
so in general the component speaker performs better than a coaxial speaker?
Can you wire separate tweeters to coaxial speakers?
do you recommend the those kicker ks? or whats a better set of speakers for around the same price
A pair of new Kicker Ks 6.5,is loud???
i have 4 of the kicker ks600′s and they’re clear as crystal. love em!
i have a 2000 mitsubishi mirage 2dr coupe and i think im either going to get two mid range or one sub woofer so i can make my sound system a little better which should i get????
@TheGuyWhoDidUrM0M You’ll need to get warranty service for the speakers. I’m not sure of a manual way to replace the crossover, unless you order a replacement from Alpine directly. As far as the comparison of speakers, unfortunately these awesome 356CS speakers were only on closeout and they’re completely discontinued and no longer available. The SPR-50C is a great set, however!
excuse me, i have a pair of alpine type s 5×7 coaxial speakers and my problem is that the crossover for the tweeter burned out and my tweeters are dead, is there any way to replace the crossover or will i have to send em to the trashcan at 2 weeks old? right now i have 2 pairs of Alpine Type R’s………. and which component speakers would you recommend Alpine’s SPR-50C or the ones in the vid the 356CS, please do reply, thank you
@pleeeeep You certainly can. Some good options are the Boston Acoustics SE60 speakers. These 6-1/2″ speakers don’t require an amp and can be driven with a factory head unit. Personally I would recommend an aftermarket head unit for much better overall performance from the speakers, but it can work either way.
can you use component speakers, and have them sound good, with a factory head-unit and no amp?
put components in teh front and coaxials in teh back. and your good. now shut up.
@SonicElectronixTV not meaning to bash on anything or your knowledge cuz i buy most of my sound system shit from sonicelectonixs im just saying most head units people buy will not put out 35 rms each channel… its probly closer to 15 or 20 if your lucky! that was my little 2 cents.
@moddingpc Component speakers are generally used to created a full range of audio. This is done with the use of crossovers which filter out frequencies that are not favorable to each driver so that the driver is not producing unwanted frequencies and thus becoming distorted. With the ability to mount the tweeter right next to the bass driver you are able to have all sound hit your ears at the same time which creates better sound staging in your vehicle.
why does a component system sound better?
so basically they are the same in most cases just you can separate the tweeter with the component set
